St. Lorenzo Church

Sometimes, I took some great Slides I knew it through the viewfinder. I tried to take some other shots the next day, but the weather makde it too dull to waste any slides. For a shallow traveller, it's lucky to have everything matching to form a great shot. This is my favorite shot and favorite place. Inside this church, there is a small chamber filled with Michaelangelo's masterpieces of sculpture, and you will never have chance to see them in other places. I lingered inside the chamber for a long long time, tried to listen tourguides introduction.

Plaza

Section Florence
I was back to Italy after Summer School for my own trip. Actually, this is a town between Venice and Florence, but I for got its name. It has the oldest University in Italy history. I met a Singaporian student there. He was studying Modern Dance in Lendon, and he showed me around the city and I bought him a dinner. He made notes on his travel thought. I gave him one of my old T-Shirt, with the famous Taiwanese Modern Dance Group logo on it. I met different Asian people in different cities. I was older than those University Kids, so I did my best to assist them in all ways. Memory is my best reward.

Look

It was a bay window around a corner of a building in Ljubljana. The climate was nice and dry, so they have very clean streets and buildings. The decoration on building was astonishing. Lots of harmonic details. They would not miss any details. I chose this view because the sculpted stone head was looking down on me. I had a good time by meeting some good old friends from Brazil.

The Patio

This lovely apartment patio, I guessed, was taken from the street during the sunset. A peaceful city as it is, and there are lots of historical buildings and landscapes. The red wine was amazingly sweet, and I had a big bottle of wine. The city's tempo was slow and easy. Most of people rushes to the limited beach line during the weekends. All stuffs are imported, so the expense is high.

Ljubljana

Section Ljubljana, Slovenia
I traveled from Venice, Italy to Ljubljana, Slovenia for a two-week of Summer School in 1995. This was a shot of iron spiral stair case in a castel of Ljubljana. I just stick my camera between bars and took the shot, and it turned out to be good. Slovenia was part of Yogosloavia before, and it has different architecture style.

St. Marco Plaza

It was an early morning with misty vision. Hounds of people were there to observe a ceremony. Tourists grouped around the tour-guide for introductions. The air was filled with joys. I was excited to capture images into my camera.

Venice Street

They are saying: "As a tourist, you have right and previlige of getting lost in Venice." I enjoyed walking around without worrying to be lost forever, because you'll always be able to find yourself in a different part of islands, and it felt good to be lost. The whole city is decorated with love and hospitality. I prefer Chicagoan Pizza, compared with original Itlian Pizza. I was spoiled, I guess. On the train entering Venice, a mid-aged lady (from Central America) said to me, "I was here with my parents 20 years ago, and it (Venice) changes not a bit." I forgot to tell her, "I will come visit Venice in 20 years too."

Cathedral

This is the famous Cathedral in Milano. I was ther for my Summer School, so I did not plan my trip well, and sometimes I learned the history on during the nights in Youth Hostel. I probably missed several famous sites too. That did not matter, since I still got some nice photos from this two-week trip in Italy. Hope you enjoy what you see now, and plan well before you go. Having a partner is the best thing. Without religions, the ancient Western and Oriental Arts will not be well preserved.

Milano

Section Italy
The first I arived to Milan, Italy from USA. I was attracted to a paire of huge wood carved gates, so I entered this residential hall. It's full of the European artistic atmosphere. It was noisy outside, but quite inside. This was a start of a tiring trip but unforgettable in 1995.

Woods

This was taken in the California State Forest near Oregon border. A simple place with touching landscape. Human life is so short, compared to the mother Nature. Take a break, drive away the city, and enjoy the Nature. Have a nice weekend!

Peace in your Heart

Isn't this calm your mind? It was a simple Natralism decoration in my Landlord's sister's farm yard. The colorful rusty iron cart outstands in green foreground & background. Hope you can find the peace from this one.

Bryce Canyon 2

That's my brother visiting me for a month in the West of USA. He was majored in Photographing, so we both indulged ourselves in a 4 weeks of pretending Natural Photographers. We did take some great shots, right?

Bryce Canyon

If you only have time to visit one National Parks, Bryce Canyon in Utah can be the choice. The reservation was well done, and you can walk down to the buttom of canyon in 20 minutes, and the image of warm color will follow you to your dream. Camp ground was nice too.

Paint Brush

It was a water fall called Paint-Brush in Yellow Stone National Parks. I use 600 mm reflectin-mirror lens to get the long distance shot. Lucky to have such great amount of falls, though it was hot at noon.

Crater Lake

It was shot in Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. I tried not to have people into my Nature Photographing. The high mountain lake shows the great clearity. It's a national parks I recommend a lot.

Calla Lily

Elegant fllowers were in my old Landlords' farm in Verdale of Minnesotta. They took great care on the farming. I enjoyed the stay. I could meet real Americans, not only the impression from Hollywood movies. Thank you, Watkins. Wish to see you soon again after all these years.

Rest Area

Wish we always can find a rest area for an unexpected short stop. It was so peaceful. I used tripods in order to bring out the richness in a rainy autumn afternoon. It was so peaceful.

By a Church

This shot was taken beside a small church. Embrace the living lives.

Northern Michigan National Forest

It was in Octobor on the Autumn ground in Northern Michigan National Forest. A bit of misty rain made the mood perfect. I traveled alone with my camera. It was unforgettable of the autumn view. Chill air made all my senses sharp. My camera was spoiled with the lovely color.

Stone Age

This was taken somewhere near Zion National Park. I was attracted with the scars on the rock and shadow side of stones. I over-exposed it a bit in order to reveal the dark side of stones, but still keep the scar grooves.

Slow Motion

This is taken in Olympic National Park. It was a cloudy & rainy day, so the color of green is saturated with long exposure time (~2 seconds). Fujichrome shows great color in natural scene.

Sunset in SF

It was taken in San Francisco Bay. The sunset on the foggy atmosphere created such a mood. Telescope lens can make subject in focus and the picture says by itself.

Snowy Road

It was May in the Mountain Road. My brother was so excited to see snow the first/last time in his life. He ran into kneel-deep snow and showed a unforgettable big smile. He liked that trip, I believe. He passed away when he was 31, 3 years after this trip with me. We are lucky to have modern tools to memorize the past.

Grand Teton

Section National Parks in USA
The blue polarizer filter was used to form this shot. It was inMay, but the snow on the mountain was still attractive. It's a National Park at the south of Yellow Stone. I did some hiking with my brother, and we enjoyed of taking photos in wilderness.
